Grievance Redressal Cell

A structured, confidential mechanism for students and staff to raise and resolve academic and administrative grievances — constituted per UGC Regulations 2012.

About the Cell

The Grievance Redressal Cell came into existence in 2015 in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Grievance Redressal) Regulations 2012 (The Gazette of India, March 23–29, 2013).

The cell looks into complaints raised by any student or faculty member and pursues the grievance procedure in accordance with the rules and regulations of the college. It is empowered to address matters of academic difficulty, administrative issues and harassment. The cell also encourages staff and students to offer suggestions related to their welfare, academics and institutional activities.

Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the chairperson or any member in person during working hours. In cases where the individual is unable to appear in person, grievances may be submitted in writing addressed to the Grievance Redressal Cell.

Redressal commitment: All grievances will be addressed within one month of receipt of the application or complaint.

Objectives of the Cell

The objective of the Grievance Redressal Cell is to develop an approachable and accountable attitude among all stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational environment in the institute.

Encourage staff and students to express their grievances freely and frankly, without fear of victimisation.

Encourage staff and students to submit suggestions or complaints in writing.

Create an atmosphere where students respect the rights and dignity of one another and exercise restraint and patience whenever disagreements arise.

Develop among students the commitment to refrain from inciting others against fellow students, teachers or the college administration.

Advise all staff to be supportive of students and to refrain from acting in a vindictive manner towards any student for any reason.

Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in and outside the institution. Any violation of ragging and disciplinary rules must be brought to the notice of the Principal immediately.

Co-ordinate between students, teachers and administration to redress grievances effectively.

Guide staff and students on the appropriate means to resolve their problems.

How to Submit a Grievance

Approach in Person

Any student or staff member with a genuine grievance may approach the Chairperson or a member of the Grievance Cell directly on any college working day.

Submit in Writing

If appearing in person is not possible, grievances may be submitted in writing and addressed to the Grievance Redressal Cell, Shri Jain Teachers' Training College, 11 Gandhi Nagar, Scheme No. 8, Alwar — 301001.

Await Redressal

The cell will endeavour to address and resolve every grievance within one month of receipt. The complainant will be kept informed of the progress.
